Food Boxes

More Than a Meal: Food Boxes

At Baskets of Blessing, we believe that good food belongs in local homes, not in landfills.

Living in Queenstown and the Central Lakes comes with a high cost of living that can easily catch families off guard. When unexpected hardships hit—whether it’s an illness, job loss, or family crisis—getting groceries on the table shouldn’t be an extra worry. We rescue high-quality, surplus food from local supermarkets and package it into wholesome food boxes filled with pantry staples and fresh ingredients, giving locals a practical buffer when they need it most.

What We Do

Our food boxes do more than just restock shelves; they provide real relief and connect our community by:

  • Providing Everyday Staples: Supplying substantial food boxes to individuals and families facing financial or emotional strain.

  • Diverting Good Food: Keeping high-quality ingredients out of landfills and redirecting them straight to local pantries.

  • Easing Family Pressure: Taking the immediate stress out of grocery shopping so families can focus on recovery and healing.

  • Bringing People Together: Giving our volunteers a shared purpose as they sort, pack, and distribute food to their neighbors.

Reach Out Today

Everyone is welcome here. If you are going through a tough patch and could use a food box, or if you want to help us sort and pack food, we would love to hear from you.
